Vote UKIP for Chris French on 10th May

Your Independent Voice in Burgess Hill, Meeds North
As a local Burgess Hill resident, I am standing to offer an Independent Voice on Burgess Hill Town Council.

At present the coalition parties hold all 17 seats and very little debate ever takes place at Council meetings. But you now have the chance to elect me as a UKIP councillor to stand up foryou and Burgess Hill’s interests and propose fresh ideas.

  • AFFORDABLE HOUSING

Having a “Town Wide Strategy” is good, but building 4,000 unsustainable
houses on greenfield sites is not. We need affordable housing for local
people and sheltered homes for the elderly.

  • REVITALISED TOWN CENTRE

The town centre desperately needs a facelift and improved entertainment facilities. The Orion Cinema should be saved. We don’t need another supermarket, which will hurt local traders. We need more creative planning and far greater accountability to the Burgess Hill electorate!

  • SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESS AND JOBS

In these tough economic times our local businesses and their employees desperately need our support. Free parking for the first 2 hours in all our car parks would attract shoppers back to Burgess Hill.

  • VISIBLE POLICING

A zero tolerance on anti-social behaviour, needs a visible police force 24/7

  • IMPROVE PUBLIC TRANSPORT

Ringfence all existing bus services. These are relied upon by both young and older people. We also need more trains stopping at Burgess Hill during both the rush hour and off peak times.

  • REOPEN THE PUBLIC TOILET

The public toilet next to Cyprus Road car park has been closed since October 2011

  • IMPROVE ST JOHN’S PARK

St. John’s Park children’s play area needs more play equipment, seating, picnic
tables, shade and proper pathways

  • MONEY FOR BURGESS HILL, NOT THE EU

By leaving the EU, and having a free trade agreement instead, the UK would save over £16bn every year in membership fees, plus £60bn every year due to EU trade barriers, business regulation, waste, fraud and administration costs, plus £12bn so far, for propping up the failed Euro currency. Charity should start at home !
